MATERIAL
Natural Materials: 100% Wool & Merino Wool
Pure wool has been our passion from the beginning, and we’ve stayed true to it. We never mix in synthetic fibres — because 100% natural wool is the best choice for both your skin and the planet.
Sheep’s wool is soft, breathable, and naturally insulating. It retains heat, repels moisture, and resists dirt, making it ideal for year-round wear. Our wool knitwear keeps you warm in winter, cool in summer, and protected from wind and light rain. It’s hypoallergenic and gentle even on sensitive skin.
We also use 100% merino wool, known for its ultra-fine fibres and luxurious softness. Merino is perfect for sensitive or allergy-prone skin. It’s breathable, helps regulate body temperature, and ensures comfort in both hot and cold climates.
Wool is easy to care for. Often, all it needs is airing out — its natural properties repel odours and dirt. That makes Kauni knitwear an ideal choice for people who value quality, beauty, and convenience.

Our yarns are Woolmark-certified and Oeko-Tex certified, guaranteeing both quality and safety. We source wool from trusted farms in Sweden, Estonia, Norway, the UK, and New Zealand, ensuring ethical production and environmental responsibility.
PRODUCTION
Sustainably Made with Love & Care in Estonia
All Kauni knitwear is produced from start to finish in our own workshop in Pärnu, Estonia. We’ve chosen to keep our entire production local, ensuring full control over quality, sustainability, and craftsmanship at every stage.
We use only 100% wool and 100% merino wool yarns, sourced from trusted farms in Norway, the UK, and New Zealand. Through our trusted long-term partners in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, we receive yarn in over 150 rich colours, carefully selected and matched to meet our high design standards.
Dedicated Craftsmanship
Each piece of Kauni wool knitwear is handcrafted on hand-knitting machines by the most skilled knitters and seamstresses in Estonia. For our team, quality is not just a goal — it’s a matter of pride. Every item is made with care, love, and precision, making it a true wearable masterpiece.
In today’s world, few artisans still master the traditional art of hand-operated knitting machines, and even fewer brands remain committed to it. At Kauni, we are proud to help preserve these time-honoured skills by creating long-lasting, high-quality wool garments.
We also offer a custom-made knitwear service, allowing you to design a wool garment tailored to your exact measurements. The result is a knit that fits beautifully and makes you feel confident, stylish, and warm — every day.
Thoughtful, Ethical Knitwear Production
Unlike mass production, Kauni wool garments are made in small batches and crafted with attention to detail. We consider different body shapes and personal preferences, and can even create custom wool knitwear made to your measurements.
Each knit goes through a meticulous process:
Our wool knitwear undergoes a gentle extra wash to soften the material and help the garment retain its shape. Over time, your Kauni knit will become even softer, offering lasting comfort, warmth, and joy—season after season.
Where Tradition Meets Technology
At Kauni, we combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to produce wool knitwear that meets today’s highest standards. Our equipment is regularly updated to ensure consistent quality — because quality is our top priority.
While our machines knit with precision and speed, it is our experienced seamstresses who complete each garment by hand — carefully assembling and finishing every detail to perfection.
Creating beautiful and functional knitwear is a true team effort. From designer to programmer, machine operator to knitter and seamstress, each person plays a vital role. This process demands patience, skill, and dedication — but the result is a garment that brings joy to the wearer and pride to everyone who helped make it.
